PEARL HARBOR MASS: Local veterans organizations will host Pearl Harbor remembrance at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 6 at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown. Veterans are to assemble at 10:15 a.m. in the church entrance with their colors.
On Dec. 7, 1941, before many Americans were even awake, the Japanese Navy struck the United States Naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, with a surprise and deadly attack, The next day the United States declared war on Japan resulting in the U.S. entry into World War II.
Catholic War Veterans Post 1222 and VFW Post 1423 are inviting the public and veterans to a Pearl Harbor remembrance with veterans.

HUMANITARIAN AWARD: Love Charity Alms is offering the Jeremiah Barnes Humanitarian Award and will accept nominations through May 7. The award will be given to a Warren area high school student who demonstrates humanitarian spirit, acts of kindness and work ethic demonstrated by Jeremiah Barnes from the time he was able to assist others until his death in June 2019. VIRTUAL PRESENTATION: Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will offer a virtual presentation via Zoom with Natalie Terry, titled “Night Visions: Advent Reflection Circle.” This virtual opportunity will take place on Mondays from this Monday to Jan. 11, 2021 (except Dec. 28), via Zoom.
The Advent Reflection Circle will be a hybrid book group and reflection group. Participants will be invited to create a personal daily reflection space and meet (virtually) with the community group (10-15 people) each week during Advent.
These virtual community gatherings will include guided meditation, poetry, song and communal reflection on the weekly theme from Night Visions. Participants will receive an email with reflection prompts each week before the virtual time together.
Natalie Terry, the assistant executive director of VMESC, is a minister, preacher and educator.
Cost is $25 for the entire series. The program is limited to 15 participants.

ONLINE CONFERENCE: The Christian Leaders Fellowship world conference will be held online Monday through Thursday at clfusa.org
CLF USA is a global faith leadership initiative that strives to unite Christian leaders through Bible-based theology, implement practical ministry solutions, and encourage fellowship rooted in the gospel. It will hold the conference and will feature lectures of executive pastors from a variety of Protestant denominations and worship from prominent worship groups.
Keynote speakers will deliver lectures on healing, youth ministry, prison ministry and how to live a life of faith.
Through these various programs, church leaders and pastors who wish will receive advice from expert spiritual guides have an opportunity to do so.

Israeli-American cellist and conductor, Amit Peled, will perform. Peled is acclaimed worldwide as one of the most exciting and virtuosic instrumentalists on the concert stage today.

BLESSING OF ANIMALS: Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St, will host Blessing of the Animals 11 a.m. today in the church parking lot.
REVIVAL: One Nation Kingdom Ministries will meet 10 a.m. Sunday at the Focus Building, 2041 Niles Road SE, Warren, for a revival with evangelist Michael Vance of South Carolina.
NEW HOME: Abundant Grace Fellowship Ministries will host a reception on Sunday following the 10 a.m. worship service to celebrate its new home at 3771 Mahoning Ave., Warren. Abundant Grace Fellowship is a nondenominational ministry that exists to make disciples for Jesus Christ. Pandemic safety guidelines will be followed.
ST. PATRICK CONCERT: St. Patrick Church, 357 N. Main St., Hubbard, will present a “Future Full of Hope” parish concert and mission 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday with Vince Ambrosetti, former Catholic Artist of the Year and the Faith on Fire Missions Team.
The church also will host a three-day mission Monday through Wednesday that will include music, the word, ritual and story.
Topics include: Monday, “Recognizing and Experiencing the Vision of God for His People;” Tuesday, “Embracing and Living the Vision of God through Healing and Forgiveness;” and Wednesday, “Becoming the Vision of God Born of the Banquet Table.”
The public is welcome to attend all of the events, and fellowship will take place in the church hall at the end of each evening. Event organizers said the parish seats 1,000, so there is plenty of room for social distancing.

20TH ANNIVERSARY: The Roman Catholic Diocese of Youngstown and the Northeastern Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America marked the 20th anniversary of the Lutheran-Catholic Covenant on Oct. 29. Signed Oct. 29, 2000, by Bishop Thomas Tobin and Bishop Marcus Miller, the covenant confesses the faith shared by Lutherans and Catholics and dedicates them to prayer, study and action for Christian unity.
The Lutheran Catholic Covenant Commission invites Lutherans and Catholics of northeastern Ohio to commemorate the anniversary through the congregation bulletin, website, Facebook or other social media, organize an ecumenical Advent Bible Study, pray for Christian unity during Sunday worship in November, and promote Christian unity through works of mercy and justice. VIRTUAL EVENT: ACTION of the Mahoning Valley will present a virtual anti-racism event “Anti-Racism and the Crossroads Healing the Great Divide” 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The event will include a presentation, questions and answers, music and prayer, Sister Patricia Chappelle and Sister Ann-Louise Nadeau are among the guest speakers.
Chappelle was the executive director of Pax Christi USA for eight years and president of the National Black Sisters’ Conference for five years. Nadeau served eight years in ministry in Washington, D.C., at Pax Christi USA as director of programs.

CATHOLIC MAN NIGHT: Catholic Men’s Fellowship will host a Catholic Man Night 6:30 p.m. Wednesday virtually. This is the second of the Knights of Columbus “Into the Breach” series with the video focusing on various aspects of authentic Catholic manhood. CHURCH HELPS: First Federated Church of North Jackson for the past dozen years has alternated between supporting the Second Harvest Food Bank and the Rescue Mission in Youngstown by purchasing and donating a hog from a local 4-H member. This year the church donated a hog to both organizations. The church purchased the hogs of Ethan Dunkel and Carson Myers.

HELPING COMMUNITY: Second Baptist Church, 1510 Main Ave. SW, Warren, known as “A House of Hope,” has been a center of spiritual development and community uplift on the southwest side of Warren since its founding over 100 years ago and continues to offer family-centered Gospel ministry while spearheading strategic initiatives geared toward bettering the lives of those in the Warren area.

CHURCH HELP: The congregation of Grace United Methodist Church in Warren donated candy to fill more than 200 quart-size plastic bags that were delivered by members to the porches of more than 200 homes in the surrounding neighborhood early Halloween morning. The church has had a Trunk or Treat event for several years, but decided to “treat” the neighborhood with a candy delivery this year.
