WHAT: Village council meeting Wednesday

PRESENT: Brian Fisher, Ray Lewis, Richard Harvey, Sean Schmidt, Cliff DeZee, Kyle Joynes and Mayor Glen Puckett

Council:

• Heard from solicitor Doug Ross that he and village office staff have been reviewing delinquent income taxes to see what can be done to get the money. Lewis said the village is facing tough financial times with the 2021 budget expected to be “bare bones” with no plans for any road paving or capital improvement projects next year;

• Discussed with department heads how the CARES Act funds can be used because there will be limited spending of village funds;

• Approved extending the service agreement with Charles Harris and Associates for biannual audit through Dec. 31, 2022;

• Requested a resolution be prepared for next meeting to approve rezoning from residential to commercial property at 452 Pennsylvania Ave.;

• Received word the village received a $1,440 grant from State Fire Marshal’s Office for servicing the new MARCS radios;

• Heard from Fisher a new police cruiser has arrived and will have light bars and other accessories placed on it before being put into service.
