Cuyahoga Falls man arrested in Liberty for Friday shooting
LIBERTY — A Cuyahoga Falls man was arrested Saturday in Liberty Township for his alleged role in a shooting Friday.
The Liberty Township Police Department confirmed that Austin James Avis, 19, was taken into custody at about 12:30 p.m. after a traffic stop. Township police received a tip he was in the area.
On Friday, Avis is accused of shooting a 19-year-old in Cuyahoga Falls. The victim identified Avis as the shooter, Cuyahoga Falls police said.
Avis fled, and a warrant for attempted murder and felonious assault was issued for his arrest.
As of Saturday, Avis was in the Trumbull County jail.
