Boardman man faces murder count

BOARDMAN — A Boardman man was arrested on a murder charge Thursday afternoon, accused in a shooting earlier this month.

Charles Sidberry, 19, was taken into custody at his home on Yarmouth Lane without incident in connection with the Oct. 3 shooting of Issak Villarreal near South Avenue in Boardman.

The shooting occurred over disagreement on the purchase of a gun, police Chief Todd Werth said .

Sidberry is in the Mahoning County jail on a first-degree murder charge.

An arrest warrant was issued after Boardman police consulted with the Mahoning County Prosecutor’s office.

The Youngstown U.S. Marshal’s Service Fugitive Task Force assisted in the arrest, while Youngstown Police Department and the Ohio Attorney General Bureau of Investigation assisted in the investigation.
