Two Austintown men charged in child porn case
YOUNGSTOWN — Two Austintown men were indicted this week on multiple charges of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, following an investigation by the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force.
The task force is part of Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost’s Organized Crime Investigations Commission.
Robert A. Basic, 44, of Oak Trace Street, was indicted on 50 counts. Ryan N. Marenkovic, 44, of the Mahoning County jail, was indicted on seven counts.
The task force executed search warrants at the homes of the two men Aug. 11, and found evidence of child pornography, Maj. Jeff Allen of the Mahoning County Sheriff’s office said. The sheriff’s office is one of the state, federal and Mahoning Valley law enforcement agencies that participates in the task force.
The following people also were indicted in other cases:
¯ Kahlil L. Sheridan, 24, of Cook Avenue, Boardman, abduction.
¯ Cameo A. Sharpe, 36, of the Mahoning County jail, felonious assault and domestic violence.
¯ Gregory L. Brown Jr., 40, of Cornell Avenue, illegal cultivation of marijuana.
¯ Matthew S. Hardenbrook, 56, of the Mahoning County jail, drug possession and selling, purchasing, distributing or delivering dangerous drugs.
¯ James R. Knepper Jr., 55, of Main Street, Washingtonville, cocaine possession and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
¯ Melissa D. Jaffe-Kreps, 42, of Clarencedale Avenue, Boardman, heroin possession, fentanyl-related compound possession, carrying a concealed weapon, drug abuse instruments possession, falsification and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
¯ Scott L. Hunt II, 23, of Ohio Avenue, Sebring, cocaine possession.
¯ Fred V. Smith, 28, of Morgan Avenue, Alliance, drug possession.
¯ Trenton R. Nored, 29, of East Philadelphia Avenue, failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, being a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, resisting arrest, discharging a firearm on or near prohibited premises and obstructing official business.
¯ Steven M. Blazina, 48, of Westport Circle, theft of drugs and aggravated drug possession.
¯ Sarah K. Kamal, 20, of South Schenley Avenue, cocaine possession with a specification of forfeiture of money in a drug case, drug possession with specification of forfeiture of money in a drug case, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia with a specification of forfeiture of money in a drug case, obstructing justice and falsification.
¯ Nathaniel W. Cheatham Jr., 30, of Foster Street, cocaine possession.
¯ Robert A. White Jr., 33, of Wilson Street, Struthers, two counts of receiving stolen property.
¯ Jermaine E. Young, 27, of 5th Street, Struthers, two counts of receiving stolen property and one count of failure to appear as required by recognizance.
¯ Jonathan M. Lee, 39, of Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls, receiving stolen property and criminal trespass.
¯ Kyree R. Grabe, 26, of the Mahoning County jail, cocaine possession with a specification of forfeiture of money in a drug case, being a felon in possession of a firearm, improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle, heroin possession with specification of forfeiture of money in a drug case, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia and a specification of forfeiture of money in a drug case.
¯ Bernard A. Hasley, 51, of Oak Hill Avenue, cocaine possession.
¯ Richard J. Armstrong Jr., 42, of the Mahoning County jail, aggravated robbery with gun, prior conviction and repeat violent offender specifications, abduction with firearm specifications, felonious assault with firearm, prior conviction and repeat violent offender specifications, being a felon in possession of a firearm and tampering with evidence.
¯ Clarence D. Bradley, 26 of Dunlap Avenue, cocaine possession and petty theft.
¯ Irving E. Wilkerson, 52, of the Mahoning County jail, robbery and failure to comply with the order of a police officer.
¯ Raymond L. Johnson Jr., 28, of Willis Avenue, robbery.
Ronald L. Easterling, 25, of Halls Heights, robbery.
¯ Amber McConahy, 42, of Twin Oaks Drive, Hubbard, three counts of illegal processing of drug documents, three counts of deception to obtain a dangerous drug and three counts of forgery.
