Ohio surpasses 150K COVID-19 cases

Ohio reported its 150,000th case of the COVID-19 virus on Saturday.

The state surpassed the milestone with the latest numbers posted on the Ohio Department of Health website.

Ohio added 1,015 cases Saturday, bringing the total to 6,462 new cases in the last week — an average of 923 cases daily.

The statewide death toll from the coronavirus climbed to 4,740 with six new deaths reported Saturday and 28 in the last week.

The Mahoning Valley reported 19 new cases in the three-county area on Saturday and no deaths. Only three deaths — one in Trumbull and two in Mahoning — were reported for the three-county area in the past week.

Mahoning County now stands at 3,065 confirmed cases with 281 deaths, 486 hospitalizations and 2,629 people presumed recovered.

Trumbull County has had 1,888 cases with 132 deaths, 343 hospitalizations and 1,668 people presumed recovered.

Columbiana County has reported 1,931 total cases with 80 deaths, 217 hospitalizations and 1,801 people presumed recovered.
