LAKE MILTON — After two days of searching by local water rescue crews, the body of a missing man was found Sunday evening at Lake Milton.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources reported that a man and woman were kayaking Saturday afternoon when the woman’s rented kayak tipped over near the Mahoning Avenue Bridge. The man entered the water to assist her and never resurfaced.

The woman was able to swim to shore.

Officials said the two were not wearing life preservers.

Rescue crews, which included a dive team and ODNR helicopter, found the man’s body around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. He was identified as Eyad Traish. Further details on Traish or the woman were not available.

Assisting with the search were crews from Berlin, Deerfield and Milton townships and dive teams from Mahoning, Portage and Summit counties.
