YOUNGSTOWN -- The Mahoning County Coroner's office has identified the man found shot to death in his home at 347 Euclid Ave. Friday night as Thomas Huff, 49.
An autopsy was performed by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office, but the case is under investigation by the Youngstown Police Department and Mahoning County Coroner's office.
Police were called to the residence just after 10 p.m. for a shooting victim and found Huff dead.
Huff's death is the 20th homicide of 2020. That is the same number of homicides the city had in all of 2019.
The shooting took place after federal officials announced earlier that day that they were stepping up efforts to reduce gun violence in the city throughout the holiday weekend.
