Teen remains critical after crash

AUSTINTOWN — Bicyclist Nathan Mcstowe, 16, of Austintown, remained hospitalized Thursday in critical condition following a Tuesday afternoon crash on Pembrook Road, west of Orkney Street.
Thomas Neff, 53, of Youngstown, was driving his 2020 Chevrolet Traverse west on Pembrook just before 5 p.m. when Mcstowe rode his bicycle onto the road from a private driveway, causing the crash, according to the Canfield post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Neff was not injured.
Mcstowe was critically injured and taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. He was later transported to Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron, the patrol report states.
Mcstowe was not wearing a helmet, the patrol said.
The accident remains under investigation.
