After participants in the Your Voice Ohio dialogues expressed concern about the country’s ability to hold an election during a pandemic in the midst of distrust and challenges facing the news media, the following question was sent to the presidential campaigns of Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

To the campaign:

The media collaborative Your Voice Ohio, the nation’s largest statewide media collaborative with 50 participating news outlets, recently completed a round of online dialogues with voters across the state.

They expressed three concerns regarding their voting in the 2020 General Election:

Efficacy of the process, including the implications of a pandemic.

Knowing who or what to trust.

The lack of resources available to local news media to fully explain issues and candidates’ positions.

On hearing this, what would Mr. Trump/Mr. Biden say to Ohioans that shows how you will help address their concerns about being informed, confident voters in the 2020 election and in the future?

Neither campaign responded.
