Struthers safety director to move back to city

STRUTHERS — The city’s safety service director has some time until he has to move back into city limits.

City Council will give Tim Daley until October to make the move, Mayor Catherine Cercone Miller said. That decision followed a special meeting this week.

Miller and Daley were not part of the discussion, which happened in executive session.

A city ordinance states that the safety service director must live in Struthers within six months of appointment unless city council deems otherwise. Daley was appointed by Miller in February to the position and has temporarily lived outside city limits in Poland Village.

Otherwise, he has lived in Struthers most of his life until moving for personal reasons.

Daley did not have a comment.
