Police blotter – Liberty

Police activity reported July 1-11:

July 11, 8:17 p.m. — Following a one-vehicle rollover crash in the area of Tibbetts Wick Road and Sodom Hutchings Road, Deltaire G. White, 37, Courtland Avenue, Campbell, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, driving under suspension, reasonable control, fictitious plates and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, along with a warrant charging him with theft. He was treated at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

3:12 p.m. — Domestic dispute reported at 6325 Klines Drive.

9:55 a.m. — A 1108 Ravine Drive man reported someone came into his house and took his wallet off the dining room table, apparently after his cat “opened his front door when he was sleeping,” the report states.

5:14 a.m. — Tianna Shanon, 26, Southern Boulevard, Youngstown, was charged with criminal damaging and making false alarms after a woman pulled a fire alarm and broke a lamp at Days Inn, 1615 Liberty St. The woman told police she pulled the alarm in an effort to get help when a man hit her and threatened to kill her.

July 10, 7:17 p.m. — Following a crash in the 3000 block of Logangate Road and the railroad tracks, Othneil D. Bell, 58, Logangate Road, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence. According to the report, Bell was convicted of OVI in 2014, 2012, 2006, 1998 and 1997.

3:41 p.m. — Ronald E. Aiosa, 53, Churchill Hubbard Road, was arrested on a warrant charging domestic violence after officers met with Niles police at U.S. Route 422 and Tibbetts Wick Road.

July 9, 4:07 p.m. — Shoplifting was reported at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road.

7:06 a.m. — After a traffic stop on Belmont Avenue near Trumbull Avenue for making a turn without using a turn signal and crossing the center line, Elie J. Faraj, 35, Chester Drive, Boardman, was charged with driving under suspension, no seat belt, no turn signals and possession of drug abuse instruments.

July 8, 9:37 p.m. — Following a traffic stop on Gypsy Lane near Belmont Avenue for a loud exhaust, Heidi A. Altman, 31, West Dennick Street, Youngstown, was charged with driving under suspension and having a loud exhaust, and was arrested on a warrant.

5:01 p.m. — A disturbance was reported at 223 Churchill Hubbard Road.

2:07 p.m. — After reports a man was yelling racial slurs at another customer at Speedway, 4210 Belmont Ave., Jordan R. McClurg, 19, Woodlawn Avenue, Girard, was charged with disorderly conduct.

July 7, 8:19 p.m. — After a car struck a house and a vehicle at 336 Goldie Road, Zachary T. Lowe, 28, Mansell Drive, Youngstown, was charged with DUI, OVI refusal, open container and failure to maintain assured clear distance.

12:31 a.m. — A man reported stabbing a man in the buttocks after he caught someone trying to steal catalytic converters at Cleveland Auto Wrecking, 2700 Youngstown Hubbard Road.

12:12 a.m. — Following a traffic stop in the 5000 block of Sampson Road, Antonio M. Mohr, 37, Logan Arms Drive, was arrested on a warrant.

2:03 a.m. — A woman reported someone made fun of what she was wearing and threatened to stab her at Speedway, 4210 Belmont Ave.

July 6, 1:18 a.m. — An investigation was started after there were reports of shots being fired at 3053 Hadley Ave.

July 5, 8:21 p.m. — A woman reported her brother threatened her at 15 Holly Drive.

3:52 p.m. — A disturbance was reported at Days Inn, 1615 Liberty St.

9:36 a.m. — A break in was reported at Dr. Todd D. Flere’s office, 1041 Liberty St.

6:06 a.m. — After reports a man was sleeping in a car with a gun on his lap at the Youngstown Country Club, 1402 Youngstown Country Club Drive, Caleb Whitfield, 20, Victor Drive, Dayton, was charged with mishandling a firearm in a motor vehicle, having weapons under disability and obstructing official business after police broke a window to rouse the man, who couldn’t be awakened.

July 4, 1:40 a.m. — An assault was reported at 3001 Green Acres Drive.

July 3, 8:09 p.m. — A woman reported someone stole her cellphone at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, after she set it down in the men’s clothing section.

6:34 p.m. — Keith A. Kansa, 52, Steel Street, Youngstown, was arrested on a warrant following a traffic stop on Goldie Road.

1:30 a.m. — After a woman reported being choked by an ex-boyfriend at Motel 30, 1600 Motor Inn Drive, Redverse C, Johnson, 33, 1600 Motor Inn Drive, was charged with domestic violence and vandalism.

July 2, 11:53 a.m. — A disturbance was reported at Hampton Inn, 4400 Belmont Ave.

July 1, 11:32 p.m. — Following a traffic stop on Belmont Avenue near Goldie Road, Elizabeth A. Soich, 39, Glendale Avenue, was charged with driving under suspension, possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia.

7:31 p.m. — After reports a man was lying in the parking lot at Motel 6, 4249 Belmont Ave., Pavo Bojic, 28, East South Street, Akron, was charged with disorderly conduct and transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

9:01 a.m. — After an employee of Equity Management, 5925 Belmont Ave., reported someone for taking things out of a dumpster there, Paul J. Konwalski, 41, Depot Street, Williamsfield, was charged with criminal trespassing.

Police blotter: Liberty

Police activity reported June 15-July 1:

July 1, 4:39 a.m. — Police responded to Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, after reports a man was seen cutting a bike lock off, taking the bike and stashing it behind the water tower. The bike was recovered and is being stored by the Liberty Police Department for safe keeping.

June 30, 9:01 p.m. — Police were called to Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave., on reports of a shoplifter. Police found a bottle of Tums in the man’s pocket. A store manager, Scott Renzenbrink, told police he recognized the man and saw him walking to the lobby door without paying, and attempted to stop him. Renzenbrink told police the man started yelling at him, and then the man attempted to pull the manager’s mask off, grabbing his face, a police report states. Store security called police. Eugene Livi, 76, Lawrence Avenue, Girard, was arrested on charges of robbery and assault.

June 29, 6:20 p.m. — Hannah Brown, 18, Elm Street, Youngstown, was charged with assault after police were called to the 2900 block of Roosevelt Drive on reports a verbal argument between women in a car and a woman in front of her house turned physical when the woman approached the women in the car and started punching into the open window of the vehicle.

8:39 a.m. — A resident of Logan Gate Apartments reported someone drove through the front yard of the apartment complex, causing damage to the yard and a sign.

1:16 a.m. — Police were called to 409 Ventura Drive on reports someone was destroying property and throwing food around. When police arrived, the person was already gone. Police found one of the witnesses had a warrant for his arrest for failing to appear on a Liberty police charge. Deandre Williams was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Trumbull County Jail.

June 28, 7:05 p.m. — Criminal damaging was reported at 1402 Youngstown Country Club Drive.

5:50 p.m. — A woman reported she was threatened in the 5700 block of Logan Arms Drive.

12:59 p.m. — Shirley E. Wargo, 23, Ivanhoe Street NE, Warren, was arrested on charges of theft and resisting arrest after shoplifting was reported at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road.

5:21 a.m. — A woman reported her sister beat her up and accused her of stealing money at Motel 30, 1600 Motor Inn Drive.

June 27, 11:43 p.m. — A domestic disturbance was reported at 207 Churchill Hubbard Road.

3:31 p.m. — A distrubance was reported at 3014 Green Acres Drive.

1:32 p.m. — Police responded to 3818 Belmont Ave. on reports a bag of drugs was found. Field tests were negative, but the substance was thrown away.

June 26, 3:58 p.m. — A man reported someone took $700 out of his wallet when he dropped it in the parking lot at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road and surveillance video confirmed it.

7:19 a.m. — A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a cargo van parked at a business at 1057 Trumbull Ave.

June 25, 4:09 p.m. — Police officers picked up Jaymee J. Cayo, 27, North Market Street, Lisbon, from the Columbiana County Jail on a warrant charging burglary, theft and criminal damaging / endangering.

2:36 p.m. — A Liberty police officer reported a man swore at him and threatened him while he was helping with traffic control at state Route 11 and Tibbets Wick when the vice president visited. Anthony Natali was charged with menacing and disorderly conduct.

June 24, 2:08 p.m. — A domestic disturbance and mental health incident was reported at 437 Richards Drive.

11:35 a.m. — Police responded to Speedway, 4210 Belmont Ave., when the store manager asked them to remove a man who was panhandling. Aaron E. Bolash, 37, Bessemer St., Youngstown, was arrested on a warrant for a probation violation and on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

June 23, 9:42 p.m. — A Louise Lane woman reported receiving threats on social media.

8:39 p.m. — Windows were broken and a television was reported stolen at 4118 Monticello Blvd.

8:08 p.m. — A disturbance was reported at 1615 Liberty St.

7:28 p.m. — Morgan Walker was arrested on a warrant and on a charge of theft after an anonymous caller reported the man was on his way to steal alcohol from Walmart. A man was found drinking from a bottle of vodka outside by a restaurant.

12:48 p.m. — Levi Shields, 24, Midland, Pa., was arrested on charges of robbery, theft, resisting arrest and obstructing official business after police chased a man through the parking lots and neighborhoods near Walmart after reports a man was shoplifting there.

8:07 a.m. — Shoplifting was reported at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road.

June 22, 7:44 p.m. — Rodger Raub, 37, Tuttle Lane, Girard, was arrested on a charge of felony domestic violence at 34 Tuttle Lane after a woman reported her son was damaging property and pulled her hair while demanding money.

12:22 p.m. — A man reported his mailbox was stolen from 1975 Tibbetts Wick Road.

June 21, 3:11 p.m. — A woman reported being threatened by a man who came into her place of work, Dollar General, 3551 Belmont Ave., after she didn’t respond to the flirtatious messages he sent her on a social media site.

10:11 p.m. — Police responded to 4151 Logangate Road on reports a woman was yelling at her neighbors.

3:23 a.m. — A domestic disturbance was reported at 1515 Montrose St.

June 20, 8:50 p.m. — Frank Howley, 39, West Heights, Youngstown, was arrested on an Austintown police warrant.

11:42 a.m. — After reports of a disturbance at 3026 Hadley Ave., Karrington Rucker, 20, was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear.

1:44 a.m. — After reports of a disturbance at 3019 Northgate Drive, Nevalyn Grays, 30, and Spencer Borom, 31, were charged with child endangering.

June 19, 11:25 p.m. — After a hit skip was reported at McDonald’s, 3630 Belmont Ave., Jeffrey Velazquez, 29, South Bon Air Avenue, Youngstown, was arrested on charges of not stopping after an accident, OVI, OVI refusal, obstructing official business and resisting arrest.

8:31 p.m. — Following a traffic stop on Gypsy Lane, Radames Junior Abad Acesio, 32, was arrested on a warrant from Florida.

1:08 p.m. — Christal Frye, 37, Nottingham Avenue, Youngstown, was arrested at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital on a warrant charging domestic violence.

10:25 a.m. — Ellis Cathey, 56, Lexington Avenue, Youngstown, was arrested on a warrant and charged with driving under suspension after reports a man drove away with a gas pump nozzle still in the vehicle at Shell, 4446 Logan Way, damaging the gas pump.

June 18, 9:27 p.m. — After a traffic stop on Gypsy Lane at Belmont Avenue, Eddie Del Shawn Cruz, 28, Milton Avenue, Warren, was charged with driving under suspension, not having a front license plate and possession of drug abuse instruments.

4:50 p.m. — Cain MacGregor, Amherst Ave., Girard, was charged with theft and resisting arrest after reports of shoplifting at Walmart.

3:37 p.m. — A disturbance was reported at 4660 Sampson Drive.

3:24 p.m. — A man at Rodeway Inn, 4250 Belmont Ave., reported a woman stole $2,100 from him.

June 17, 11:04 p.m. — Following reports of a crash on Churchill Road at Belmont Avenue, Jason Woods, 40, 4940 Logan Arms Drive, was arrested on charges of OVI and OVI high test.

7:16 p.m. — After reports of a young person walking around with a gun in the area of Keefer Road and Churchill Road, police confiscated a BB gun from a 14-year-old.

2:09 p.m. — A woman reported illegal dumping on Denver Drive.

10:36 a.m. — A Walmart asset protection associate reported two women on the no-trespassing list at Walmart following accusations of theft the previous day, came back to the store and were “causing problems.”

8:53 a.m. — Sharaysia Bunch, 25, Tyrell Street, Youngstown, was charged with three counts of child endangerment after three kids were found playing in a hallway unsupervised at Days Inn, 1615 Liberty St.

June 16, 7:38 p.m. — A family disturbance was reported at 3038 Northgate Drive.

June 15, 1:05 p.m. — After reports of shoplifting at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, Davail Dow, 23, Upland Avenue, Youngstown, was charged with theft and arrested on warrants.
