YOUNGSTOWN — Police investigated an allegation that a man, 20, fired a gun at a woman at Stewart and Katherine avenues on the East Side at 1:03 a.m. Tuesday.

A woman met police and told them the father of her child shot at her while she was in her car. She said it happened after they argued and the man pulled off her wig while she was driving and pushed her.

Police saw no bullet holes in her car but found a bullet casing, bullet fragment and three holes in the asphalt at the location where the woman said it happened. The woman had two small children in car seats in the back of her car.

While talking to officer, she pointed at a man nearby and said he was the man. He started walking toward an officer, raised his hands and said the woman was lying.

The man was taken into custody, but Youngstown Municipal Court records do not show him charged with any new offenses.
