Franklin Ave. shooting injures 2 kids
YOUNGSTOWN — Two children were injured in a South Side shooting at about 8 p.m. Monday night near the 900 block of Franklin Ave.
Police said someone got out of a car and open fire from King Street at a house, striking a nearby 11- and 13-year-old. The injuries are not life-threatening but they were taken to a hospital for treatment. Police could not say if the kids were inside or outside the home, according to 21-WFMJ TV.
The gunfire is suspected to have come from two weapons. Police say the vehicle then fled around the corner of King Street.
