Austintown begins its summer food distribution program

AUSTINTOWN — The Austintown Local School District summer food service program for children ages 1 to 18 will begin Monday and continue through Aug. 21.

Meal service is 11 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday at the Austintown Elementary School, 245 Idaho Road. Parents are able to pick up meals for their students if they are unable to come, but no adult meals will be given at this time.

Hot lunches will be served and breakfast is available in a grab-and-go style by request during the meal service time window, but the district is encouraging meals to be taken to-go. Seating will be available only for students on campus for other obligations.

Parents should expect modifications to the usual meal service experience due to social distancing and extra sanitary precautions. Anyone with questions can contact Food Service Director Alexis Webber at 330-797-3901, Ext. 5040.
