2 men held on $1M bonds on murder charges
YOUNGSTOWN — Bond was set at $1 million each for two Youngstown men charged in the July 1 aggravated murder of a person burned beyond recognition in the back of a vehicle on the East Side.
Julius E. Kimbrough, 43, and Dawond T. Roddy, 34, were arraigned Friday on the charges and ordered held in the Mahoning County jail on $1 million bond each.
Police arrested the two Wednesday in connection with the death of a person on the 3300 block of McGuffey Road on July 1.
The fire department was called to the location for a brush fire, but discovered a sport utility vehicle in the woods fully engulfed in flames.
While extinguishing the fire, firefighters discovered a body in the rear cargo area of the vehicle.
The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victim’s identity, but police believe it is the vehicle owner.
