Woman indicted in stabbing in Austintown

YOUNGSTOWN — Jennifer L. Sharpe, 31, of Struthers, was indicted Wednesday on felonious assault and two counts of violating a protection order related to a May 6 stabbing outside of an Austintown apartment building.

A 33-year-old Youngstown man told police Sharpe struck him on the head and arm with a sharp object on Compass West Drive. A witness said Sharpe then got into a car and drove away. Police reported seeing “lots of blood” on the sidewalk.

The victim, who was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, told police a court had previously issued a protection order against Sharpe.

Also indicted was Kevin W. Nipper, 36, of South Stateline Road, Petersburg, on 10 counts of pandering obscenity and 20 counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented-material or performance.

The charges relate to images found on Nipper’s cellphone and involve a juvenile female. The case was investigated by the New Middletown Police Department.

Others indicted are:

• Ulysses A. Harris, 36, Hazeltine Avenue, Campbell, felonious assault, abduction, obstructing official business and aggravated menacing.

• Michelle R. Kuhn, 41, Freemont Place, Girard, aggravated drug possession and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Lori A. Ivey, 51, of West Chalmers Avenue, receiving stolen property and grand theft of a motor vehicle.

• Damon L. Jefferson Jr., 26, Mahoning County jail, aggravated drug possession.

• Joe’von D. Jackson, 20, of Windsor Avenue, cocaine possession and fentanyl-related compound possession.

• Wally W. Moxley, 39, of Mahoning Avenue, cocaine possession.

• Leon C. Reynolds, 46, of Arden Boulevard, assault, obstructing official business and resisting arrest.

• Nicholas Lewis, 27, Mahoning County jail, burglary with a notice of prior conviction, theft from a person in a protected class and attempted tampering with evidence.

• Cleveland B. Jackson, 24, Mahoning County jail, two counts of improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation or school safety zone with two firearm specifications each, a specification of repeat violent offender on each count and notice of prior conviction on each count; and one count of criminal damaging or endangering.

• Conovas P. Crawford, 22, of Perry Street, Struthers, two counts of improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation or school safety zone with two firearm specifications each, a repeat violent offender specification on each, and a notice of prior conviction on each. He also was indicted on one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and one count of criminal damaging or endangering.

• Tracey D. Shuler, 48, Mahoning County jail, felonious assault and aggravated menacing.

• Stan J. Williams, 56, Mahoning County jail, failure to register.

• Demetrius L. Wright, 30, of Brookline Avenue, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

• Corey R. Stewart, 43, of Stratmore Avenue, aggravated drug possession.

• Tyler M. Penwell, 19, Trumbull County jail, breaking and entering, vandalism, possessing criminal tools, grand theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of receiving stolen property, and one count of vandalism.

• Robert T. Moneypenny, 37, of state Route 164, Lisbon, failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, obstructing official business, fentanyl-related compound possesssion and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
