Man dies, three others shot in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County coroner identified the man shot to death in front of a home in the 300 block of East Florida Avenue on Monday afternoon as Kiondre D. Davis, 27.

Davis, of Youngstown, was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital from the scene and died at 7:26 p.m. The shooting was reported at 4:43 p.m.

Police said they found Davis face down on the front porch with multiple gunshot wounds when they arrived. A second city man, 31, was found in the kitchen and apppeared to have gunshot wounds “throughout his body,” according to a police report. His condition was critical.

Police said one of the men said a possible suspect was seen running through the yards tucking a gun in his waistband. The man had short dreadlocks and was wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and a blue bandana, the report states.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office. Jones’ death is the 14th homicide of the year.

At 10:55 p.m. Monday, police were called to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for a gunshot victim who had been driven there in a car.

Police learned the victim, a city man, 24, was in critical but stable condition with a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen.

A police report provided no other information, such as the location of the shooting.

At 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to the first block of East Evergreen Avenue for shattered glass and bullet casings in the middle of the street.

While police were there, they were advised that a city man, 27, had arrived at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital with gunshot wounds, a police report states.

A vehicle apparently involved in the incident was reported to have multiple bullet holes, a shattered back windshield, and damage to both mirrors.
