Amber alert canceled after Youngstown child found

YOUNGSTOWN — An Amber Alert issued about 3 a.m. Friday after a 1-year-old girl was taken from her home on Moherman Avenue has been canceled.

The child, Nova Sheridan, was found unharmed at a home on Tanglewood Avenue in Liberty about 11:30 a.m. Friday.

The Youngstown Police Department, Liberty Police Department, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and FBI task force are jointly conducting an investigation into the case, according to a news release from the Youngstown Police Department.

No arrests have been made.

The Amber Alert indicated that authorities believed the girl had been taken from her West Side home by her biological father, Kahlil Sheridan, 23. She had been last seen at 11:20 p.m. Thursday.
