Thief throws rock through window

YOUNGSTOWN — A man, 75, of Tod Lane on the North Side, reported to police that a young man threw a rock through a large picture window in the living room of his house at 2:58 a.m. Tuesday while he was sleeping on the couch under the window.

The rock thrower then climbed through the window. The victim said he yelled, which brought his wife running. The burglar grabbed a 55-inch television from the room and ran back through the window, according to the police report.

The victim was treated for a cut finger.

Police found a large rock from the landscaping in the living room.

Another burglary involving a large television took place in the 2200 block of Goleta Avenue on the North Side sometime after 10:45 p.m. Monday.

In that burglary, no one was home and the resident discovered the missing TV the next morning. Entry was gained by removing a basement window.
