YOUNGSTOWN — Lamott Spragling, 53, of South Raccoon Road in Austintown, was charged with drug possession, obstructing official business and criminal trespass after police encountered him in the 1300 block of East Indianola Avenue at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Police were on patrol when they saw someone inside of a car parked in a driveway of an uninhabitable apartment, according to a police report. Police pulled up behind the vehicle and saw that a man was no longer in the car and Spragling was walking away.

After Spragling ignored police commands to stop, he started running but was apprehended on Cooper Street, the police report states. Police found suspected heroin in his clothing and discovered he had outstanding warrants for failure to appear in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Spragling was taken to the Mahoning County jail, where he was booked in Wednesday night, jail records show.
