YOUNGSTOWN — A man in his 30s was found with fatal gunshot wounds inside a barber shop at 60 W. Indianola Ave. on Thursday morning.

Youngstown police said they were called there at 11:41 a.m. because of a shooting and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and was pronounced dead by emergency room staff.

The barber shop has had multiple names recently. It is located in a somewhat unpopulated area.

Youngstown police are investigating but did not release the victim’s name Thursday pending notification of relatives.

It is the eighth homicide of the year in Youngstown.

It followed the shooting deaths of a woman and her father at a house on West Judson Avenue on Saturday afternoon.

The two locations are about 1.5 miles apart on the city’s South Side.

In 2019, Youngstown recorded a total of 20 homicides.
