A newspaper like today’s comes along only once every four years — it has Feb. 29 as its date.

In an effort to take advantage of an “extra” day in 2020 we asked area advertisers to help us make this edition an extra special vehicle to promote their businesses to our readers.

Twenty-six area businesses took advantage of special pricing to present themselves to The Vindicator’s 54,000 readers with an ad published each day during the leap month of February.

Today, each of those 26 advertisers have provided a half-page of advertising to further acquaint you with their products and services.

We salute these businesses, their owners, managers and employees who strive every day to meet the needs of their customers and who offer real value in their products and services. Their operations significantly contribute to the economy of this region by providing employment opportunities and services to its residents.

While we realize we don’t do it often enough, we encourage our loyal readers to patronize and support the businesses who use the pages of The Vindicator to advertise their goods. The money you spend with our advertisers provides the return on investment these businesses expect when they buy space in The Vindicator. For more than 150 years this local newspaper has provided a valuable advertising product that produces results and return on investment to commercial enterprises of all types.

The advertising dollars contribute significantly to paying the costs of producing more than 600,000 newspapers each month.

Writing, editing, printing and delivering a daily newspaper is an expensive operation. As many communities, even cities, across the country are learning, only newspapers with loyal readers and advertisers are able to survive in the highly competitive media space.

Today we are happy to salute our loyal readers and advertisers. It’s a great way to finish the first six months of the “new” Vindicator.
