Man tells police he was robbed, likely drugged in Austintown hotel

AUSTINTOWN — A man traveling through the township told police he believed he was drugged after he woke up at his hotel to find his wallet and a rented U-Haul truck missing Sunday morning.

The man was traveling from Maryland to Illinois when he stopped for the night at the Fairfield Inn on Canfield-Niles Road.

He told police he met two men at Club 76 on Seventy-Six Drive, and invited them to his hotel when the club closed. Around 5:30 a.m., the man woke up to find items missing.

He told police he had only two drinks at the club and he may have been drugged. The suspects are described as white men, one 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 200 pounds with brown hair; and one 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 170 pounds with brown hair.
