Man charged in vehicle run-over

AUSTINTOWN — Thomas E. Poyssick Jr., 21, of 92 N. Turner Road, was arrested on a charge of felonious assault, accused of intentionally hitting a 36-year-old Austintown man with his vehicle, causing the man to fly about 30 feet.

The incident happened at Meridian Drive-thru around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. A drive-thru employee told police she saw an upset 18-year-old woman with a bloody face get out of Poyssick’s car. Poyssick brushed the car against the woman, trying to strike her, according to the witness.

The employee brought the woman into the office, and Poyssick returned and tried to get inside. Customers intervened, and Poyssick left, only to return and strike the 36-year-old man with his vehicle, according to the report.

Poyssick is being held without bond in the Mahoning County jail. He is scheduled to be arraigned at 1 p.m. Monday in Mahoning County Austintown Court.
