YOUNGSTOWN — Police were called to the Circle K store, 1821 Mahoning Ave., at 11:49 p.m. Tuesday for a robbery in progress. Officers arrived within seconds, but the suspect was gone.

Witnesses said a male 30 to 40 years old demanded money and put his hand in his pocket to suggest he had a gun. The employees went to the office and called 911. The suspect went behind the counter, took money from a cash register and fled.

He was described as having a cut over one eye and pock marks on his face.
