Several law enforcement agencies and safety crews were called out at 8:38 p.m. after a woman reported that a man had just shot another woman inside the house at 6067 Hoagland Blackstub Road.

A 911 spokesman said an adult female, who said she was hiding in a closet at the home, reported that “Tommy Coburn” had shot her mother.

A 911 reports states the caller identified Coburn as her mother’s fiancee, and said he shot her mom in the bedroom of the house after breaking down the bedroom door during a fight.

The caller also told police that there were multiple guns in the house.

At one point, the woman said the man left the house, but she stayed hidden. Shortly before 9 p.m., she whispered into the phone that the shooter had returned to the house and that “he’s coming for me.”

Minutes later, responding law enforcement officers approaching the house heard two gunshots, reports state.

They found a man with a gunshot wound to his head. They found the female victim in a bedroom. The caller was hiding in a closet in the bedroom, the 911 report states.

Agencies responding to the call included the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office, Bazetta and Cortland police departments, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol, as well as ambulances and fire departments.

A 911 spokesman said the Critical Response Team was also called to the scene after a female was in need of mental evaluation. Safety crews transported the caller to sheriff’s office.
