Teens nabbed after dumping trash cans in Austintown

AUSTINTOWN — Several teens are facing charges after knocking down trash cans along the second block of Parkgate Avenue early Tuesday.

Police chased four suspects after being called to the area for reports of teenagers dumping garbage in the street. Magnuson M. Mull, 18, was arrested on charges of misdemeanor criminal mischief, resisting arrest and possession of criminal tools after he attempted to flee from an Austintown police officer, according to a police report.

Officers also caught a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl after chasing them through several yards.

The 16-year-old told law enforcement he was a runaway. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant for vandalism and on charges of misdemeanor criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and breaking and entering after he attempted to hide from police in a resident’s shed, the police report states. He was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center.

The 15-year-old had recently run away from Daybreak Youth Crisis Center. She was returned to the center and cited on charges of a curfew violation and criminal mischief, the report states.
