Newton Falls man gets license suspended, fined

YOUNGSTOWN — Ray E. Snyder, 56, of Bate Street, Newton Falls, was sentenced to 30 days in the Mahoning County Adult Justice Center, given a one-year driver’s license suspension and ordered to pay a $375 fine after pleading guilty Tuesday to operating a motor vehicle impaired and failure to comply.

Prosecutors dismissed an inducing panic charge in exchange for Snyder’s guilty plea, according to court records.

Prosecutors said Milton Township police made a traffic stop on Snyder’s vehicle on Mahoning Avenue in the township.

During the ensuing investigation, an officer came in contact with suspected drugs and was taken to the hospital to be checked for possible exposure, but the officer was OK, said Kevin Trapp, assistant Mahoning County prosecutor.
