BOARDMAN — Police said they were dispatched Wednesday after a report of a crying baby unattended in a vehicle at TJ Maxx HomeGoods, Boardman-Poland Road.

According to a police report, the mother of the child was charged with endangering children.

The car was left running and unlocked with a young boy fastened into a rear-facing carseat.

Upon searching for identification in the car, officers located a purse as the child’s mother exited the store, asking if there was a problem. The mother told officers the child was sick and could not go to day care, which is why she did not
