Cellphone used to stop home burglary

YOUNGSTOWN — A woman, 22, told police at 6:55 p.m. Sunday that she saw someone she knew inside her Sheridan Road home through a surveillance camera, and she and her brother yelled to “get out of the house.”

The woman and her brother were away from her home at the time. The surveillance system has video and audio and she can access the surveillance sytem on her cellphone.

After yelling at the suspect, he and another man fled. The victim then came home and saw that her door was unlocked and a window was broken. She was able to provide photos of the two men and identified one of them.

The resident reported that two television sets and miscellaneous clothing were missing. Some of the clothes were found just outside of the house.
