WRTA offers new bus service along 224 corridor

BOARDMAN — The Western Reserve Transit Authority is providing a new small-bus service to help people get around the U.S. Route 224 retail corridor from Starrs Corners in Canfield to the Giant Eagle in Poland.

YOUride operates 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. weekdays. A resident can request a ride on a small bus from anywhere in the area, which goes as far south as Western Reserve Road and as far north as Walmart and Lowe’s on South Avenue.

A YOUride can be requested only through the TransLoc app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. All YOUrides are free to get the word out about the program. When WRTA decides to charge for the rides, it will be $3 each way.

The YOUride bus will take people from a WRTA fixed route bus stop 6:30 and 10:30 p.m. to anywhere in the service area including work, supermarkets, department stores, medical centers and restaurants.

For more information, call WRTA at 330-744-8431 or go online to www.wrtaonline.com/services/ youride.
