COITSVILLE — Two drivers were seriously injured in an 8:45 a.m. Tuesday three-vehicle crash at U.S. Route 422 and Bedford Road.

The Canfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Joyce Caleris, 78, of Lowellville, and Susan Watson, 57, of New Castle, Pa., were both taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital with serious injuries. Scott Schippert, 42, of Warren, suffered possible injuries but was not transported to the hospital.

The patrol said Caleris was on Bedford Road, and Schippert and Watson were on Route 422 in separate vehicles when Caleris tried to turn left at Route 422 and was struck on the left side by Schippert’s vehicle.

Schippert then crossed the center line and struck Watson’s vehicle, the patrol reported. All three vehicles went off the north side of Route 422.
