Man charged in Auburndale gunfire
YOUNGSTOWN — Mark T. Colpetro, 19, of East Midlothian Boulevard was charged Tuesday in Youngstown Municipal Court with improper discharging of a firearm into a habitation, being a felon in possession of a weapon, and improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle. The charges are tied to a Sunday afternoon incident on East Auburndale Avenue.
Police said they heard four to five gunshots on Auburndale, and a detective sergeant working a side job in the parking lot of St. Dominic Church on East Lucius Avenue saw Colpetro hanging part way out of a car firing a gun. The officer chased the vehicle but lost sight of it. A home nearby was hit by gunfire.
Police later found Colpetro at his home on East Midlothian and arrested him.
