Staff report
YOUNGSTOWN — A man who was 15 when he was given a 100-year-prison sentence in the 2001 abduction and rape of a 21-year-old Youngstown State University student was affirmed as a sexually oriented offender.
The ruling Tuesday by Mahoning County Common Pleas Judge Maureen Sweeney means Brandon Moore will have to register with the sheriff once each year for 15 years.
Moore, now 33, is housed in Marion Correctional Insitution. He was convicted of kidnapping, complicity to rape, rape and aggravated robbery along with gun specifications. In addition to the rape charges, Moore was also convicted in the Aug. 21, 2001, armed robbery of a Youngstown man.
