On the record – Poland Township

WHAT: Regular trustees meeting Wednesday

PRESENT: Eric Ungaro, Edward Kempers and Joanne Wollet

Trustees:

• Recognized guest John Rosensteel of 3057 Spitler Road, who discussed flooding on his property;

• Heard from Ron Sharpe of the Ohio Department of Transportation who proposed work be done at the intersection of state Route 616 and Beechwood Drive. A field study showed there has been flooding problems, which ODOT believes is because the roads are too flat, which prevents the water from flowing into the catch basins. He proposed lowering the basins;

• Announced Poland Community Day will take place at Pioneer Trails Tree Farm 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 5;

• Discussed the possibility of adding a “foot traffic only” sign at the township park so ATV and dirt bike riders do not damage trails;

• Accepted the resignation of two police officers, Scott Weiland, who resigned Sept. 3, and Jacob Lape, who resigns effective today;

• Announced that 82 percent of the streets have been milled and resurfaced. Work is still continuing.

• Anthony Suszczynski
