Man jailed after fracas on Hillman Street

YOUNGSTOWN — A 39-year-old man was taken to the Mahoning County jail Monday after an altercation on Hillman Street on Sunday night in which he is accused of asking another man if he could stay at his home a couple of nights, was refused and then broke in, assaulted the other man and threatened him with a gun. The victim said the suspect showed up at 11 p.m. Sunday asking to stay there, but the victim refused to open the door. Woman injured in South Side shooting

YOUNGSTOWN — A woman with a gunshot wound was found at 3 a.m. Tuesday in a car in the 600 block of St. Louis Avenue on the South Side. A Youngstown police news release states that officers were sent to the 1000 block of Glenwood Avenue, which led to officers finding the woman in the 600 block of St. Louis Avenue. She was in a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound, the report states. She was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for treatment.
