Tim McGraw postponed until 2025
JAC Live announced this morning that the Aug. 2 Y-Live concert featuring Tim McGraw is being rescheduled for 2025.
In a statement released this morning, JAC’s CEO Eric Ryan says, “Y-Live has always been about showcasing all the amenities our downtown has to offer. Striving for the absolute best experience for the fans, downtown businesses and artists alike has always been at the forefront of our mission. We have decided that postponing this event until next year is the best scenario for all involved.”
JAC’s Chief Operating Officer Ken Bigley is quoted in the release as saying, “The event has made a substantial impact on area businesses since its inception with the influx of visitors it draws to the city. Given the situation and circumstances Downtown is currently facing and the impact Y-Live has on the overall infrastructure of the city, the postponement was unavoidable, but we are thankful to Tim McGraw and his team for the flexibility on the date change.”
Bigley said Wednesday that JAC would make no comment beyond what was included in the press release.
Y-Live brings more than 20,000 people to downtown Youngstown for the outdoor concert in Wean Foundation Park, located between the Covelli Centre and the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre.
In past Y-Live stories, organizers have talked about the impact a crowd that size has on the city’s infrastructure under the best of circumstances. Security concerns require the closure of both the Market Street and South Avenue bridges leading into downtown.
Other streets currently are closed for improvement projects, and a portion of East Federal Street remains closed following the explosion May 28 at the Realty Tower building.
The new date for Tim McGraw and Warren Zeiders will be Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025.
Fans have the option to hold on to their tickets as the set up will not change for the rescheduled date or they can return their tickets to point of purchase for a refund within the next 30 days.
