Defendant in murder trial testifies to his mental state during fight

YOUNGSTOWN -- Murder defendant John E. Morgan has been on the witness stand all morning, testifying about his life and the incidents July 31, 2022, when he shot and killed Danny Peek Sr. at Peek's home on East Florida Avenue on the South Side.

During the latter parts of his testimony, one of his lawyers, Brandon Henderson, played the dash cam video from Morgan’s car and asked Morgan to describe what was happening at various points and describe his mental state was as he was being kicked and punched.
