Police identify man killed early Monday on the South Side

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County coroner’s office has identified the man shot to death early Monday at a home in the 110 block of Park Hill Drive on the South Side as Alfred Hall, 42.

Hall was killed and his girlfriend, 43, was wounded by gunfire reported at 4:46 a.m. Monday at the residence located near the Mill Creek Police Department on Glenwood Avenue.

Police were called to the location for a shooting and found the couple inside the home, according to a newly released Youngstown Police report. Lifesaving procedures were performed, but Hall was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The woman was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for her injuries. Her condition was not known, the Youngstown Police Department stated in a news release.

Police said the shootings appeared to be a “directed crime” and that it indicates “no danger to the public at large.” It added that the public has been an “instrumental partner with providing information on violent crimes, and we once again ask that anyone with information contact the YPD Detective Division to assist with helping to solve this senseless incident.”

The news release states that no arrest has been made in this homicide and felonious assault.
