Court denies preliminary injuction for deer-reduction plan
Magistrate Nicole Alexander of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court has decided to deny a preliminary injuction which sought to stop the Mill Creek MetroParksá deer-reduction plan.
The decision comes after a daylong hearing Wednesday, which was held in response to the lawsuit filed by four people who live near the MetroParks and want to stop the deer-reduction program. The preliminary injunction was sought to stop the MetroParks from starting to carry out the program in the coming weeks, before the lawsuit is resolved.
Nick Derico, Mill Creek MetroParks Natural Resources manager, spoke in support of the plan, which was approved in April.
