Tue. 11:10 a.m.: Schools strike plan likely to include remote learning

YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown City Schools will release a communications plan for the first day of school later today that will likely include remote learning, a post on its website states.

“We know there are many questions and concerns about navigating this situation, as school is set to begin tomorrow. We sincerely appreciate your patience. Rest assured that the district will be transparent and update you about the strike,” it continues.

Monday, the Youngstown Education Association voted to strike.

At 4:30 p.m. today, the YEA will meet for regular meeting session in the commons area of Choffin Career and Technical Center, 200 E. Wood Street.

The first day of school is Wednesday.
