HUBBARD — A 67-year-old Hubbard man was arrested shortly before midnight Thursday on a charge of rape and 10 child pornography charges.

Hubbard City Police on Tuesday searched the home of David M. Kerester in the 500 block of Elizabeth Street, which turned up electronic and recording devices that police say will be analyzed. Kerester was not present. An arrest warrant was issued.

On Thursday, Liberty Township police arrested Kerester in his car on a Belmont Avenue parking lot. Items were found in his car, including a packed suitcase and newly purchased prepaid cellphone, that indicated he would attempt to flee the area. Instead, he was booked in the Trumbull County Jail without chance of posting bond, police said.

The investigation began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a tip, police said.
