WARREN -- City police released the identity of the 21-year-old man who was shot to death Sunday evening in the 2100 block of Jackson Street NW.

Eddie Bryant was killed at around 6 p.m., police said this morning

A male juvenile, who has yet to be identified, was taken to Trumbull Regional Medical Center but police say his wounds are not life-threatening.

The killing is the second homicide in the city in less than a week.

A 911 call sheet from Sunday states that an eyewitness saw three men wearing ski masks riding in a black Lincoln on Palmyra Road, which turned down Oak Circle. The caller heard numerous gunshots and then saw a man shot several times in area of Nevada Avenue and Jackson Street. The 911 report states the victim was shot in the chest, neck, stomach and leg.

Less than a month after Mayor Doug Franklin released a statement addressing ongoing violence in the city, a homicide occurred exactly a week ago on July 3 in the 1900 block of South Feederle Drive SE.

Officers responded to a call for shots fired around 2 a.m. and found the victim, Brandon Reed, 51, who had been shot multiple times, according to a police report. He died at Trumbull Regional Medical Center a short time later.

The city has been plagued by a recent spate of violence that began with a shooting in early June and a shooting later in the month that injured a 9-year-old girl.
