COITSVILLE — A Struthers woman was killed in a 9:03 p.m. Sunday two-vehicle crash at state Route 616 and McGuffey Road in Coitsville Township.

It happened near the William Holmes McGuffey Wildlife Preserve, north of U.S. Route 422 and south of Hubbard.

According to the Canfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Brittany Rivera, 28, of Struthers, was driving a 2017 Nissan Versa west on McGuffey Road when she failed to yield at a stop sign at Route 616.

Rivera’s vehicle was struck by a Chevrolet Equinox driven by Elaine Graban, 71, of Hubbard, who was traveling north on Route 616. Michael Graban, 72, was in the right front passenger seat in Grabanás vehicle.

Rivera’s vehicle struck a utility pole and continued to travel through a field, striking a tree, and coming to rest in the wood line. Rivera had to be extracted from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the highway patrol.

Elaine and Michael Graban had non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Mercy Health Hospital in Youngstown.
