Liberty fatal crash victim identified
LIBERTY – The Warren post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one- vehicle fatal crash that occurred about 1:30 a.m. today on Tibbetts Wick Road just west of Shannon Road in Liberty Township.
The driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was operating a white westbound 2015 Dodge Charger on Tibbetts Wick Road when the car failed to negotiate a curve, going off the right side of the roadway,striking a utility pole. Trumbull County Coroner Dr. Lawrence D’Amico identified the driver who was killed as 21-year-old Adam Connelly. The exact cause of death is still pending at this time, D’Amico said.
The Dodge erupted in flames and the fire was put out by responding members of the Liberty Fire Department, the report states.
In addition to fire crews, Liberty Township and Girard city police departments assisted the patrol at the crash scene. Tibbetts Wick Road was closed for about two and a half-hours after the crash because of downed power lines. The roadway has since been reopened to traffic.
The crash remains under investigation, the report states.
