YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office this morning said the 13-year-old involved in the Lowellville school shooting has died.

The news release states the coroner’s office was notified by St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital that Ryan Porter of Youngstown died at 7:24 p.m. May 6, about 33 hours after Porter was mortally wounded by a self-inflicted gunshot to his head. The shooting took place in the Lowellville school complex cafeteria.

An autopsy will be conducted, and the incident remains under investigation by the Mahoning County coroner’s and sheriff’s offices, the release states.
