Two Youngstown teens indicted on aggravated murder
YOUNGSTOWN — Jamiyah M. Brooks, 18, of Lilburn Drive, and Nathaniel Austin Jr., 33, of Idora Avenue were both indicted today on aggravated murder and murder, both with gun specifications, and tampering with evidence in the shooting death of Isiah J. Helms, 22, whose body was found in a Youngstown cemetery Feb. 2.
Their indictments allege they killed Helms between Jan 30 and Feb. 2. Helms was reported missing Jan. 30 and was last seen leaving his Plaza View Court apartment on the East Side just before 3 a.m. Jan. 30.
Brooks was indicted Jan. 13 in a separate incident on charges of tampering with evidence, carrying a concealed weapon and obstructing official business from Dec. 28 at a home on Ivanhoe Avenue on the South Side. Brooks has been in the Mahoning County jail since March 9.
