YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a girl, 10, and a man, 40, overnight, both on the South Side.

The girl was pronounced dead at the scene at a home in the 600 block of Samuel Avenue on the South Side.

Police were called there at 2:27 a.m. for multiple shootings and found four people who had been shot, including the girl.

Three adults were taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for their injuries and were listed in stable condition. They are two males in their 20s and a female, also in her 20s.

At 2:20 a.m., police were called to Palmer Avenue at South Avenue, where a male driver, 40, was found dead in a pickup truck that crashed into a telephone pole. The man had been hit by gunfire.
