Drugs seized in Austintown traffic stop
Michael Behanna
AUSTINTOWN — A Boardman man will face a host of felony charges after police seized 42 grams of cocaine, 127 grams of marijuana, 10 grams of methamphetamine and 18 ecstasy pills in a traffic stop Monday night.
Michael Behanna, 42, of 4225 Chester Drive, Apt. 5, will be in court Wednesday for an arraignment on the charges in connection to the stop.
According to a police report, officers pulled over a vehicle about 6:09 p.m. Monday on Woodland Trace Street and during their encounter, Behanna was shaking and sweating. Police found his registration expired and the vehicle had to be towed. He did not give permission to search the vehicle, but police found contraband in plain view and searched the vehicle.
Behanna then argued with police about going through his vehicle several times and was then detained. The report states police found a can of lemonade which had a false top. Inside the hollowed out can was a white powder substance. A bag in the vehicle also contained the 42 grams of cocaine, 127 grams of marijuana, several items of drug paraphernalia, 10 grams of methamphetamine and the 18 ecstasy pills, the report states.
Police also found $847 in cash on Behanna’s person.
